The Department of Management and Organization (DMO) at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is seeking candidates for an open rank position (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) in Organizational Behaviour.

Your profile
We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. in Business Administration, or a closely related discipline such as psychology or industrial relations (doctoral degree must be completed before taking up the position). Candidates should have a research background in organizational behavior or a related field (such as organizational psychology) and have an interest in conducting research with practical implications for organizations. Successful candidates will contribute to enrich the DMO research portfolio, for example, by developing synergies around topics such as work-life balance, diversity, leadership, teams, social networks, affect/emotions, identity, well-being at work, ethics, and more.

We especially seek candidates with an international academic background (typically a PhD from outside Sweden) to further enrich DMO's faculty diversity and international profile. As a candidate, you thrive in the DMO inclusive research environment, that is a multidisciplinary and multi-paradigmatic environment where research aims at making contributions to both academic knowledge and a better society. You are open, considerate, and sympathetic to different research paradigms such as positivist, interpretivist and critical. You have strong qualities in both research and teaching.

Your qualifications
In research, successful applicants will exhibit the ability to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed international journals such as top journals in the AJG (4/4*) and those on the FT50 list. This will be evidenced by your publications, research pipeline, and a documented presence in the international research community on a level commensurate to the appointment sought (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor).

In teaching, experience from designing and delivering courses, as well as from coaching student projects is considered a merit (required on the level of Associate or Full Professor). You are expected to show independence and to interact and constructively collaborate with faculty from other disciplines. The successful candidate will be part of the core faculty in management and organization. Teaching (in English) falls within the area of OB and organization theory on all educational levels (https://www.hhs.se/en/education/bsc, https://www.hhs.se/en/education/msc/, and for Associate or Full Professor also https://www.hhs.se/en/education/phd/business-administration/ and https://exedsse.se/en/ levels). The teaching load for the position is 20-40% of the working time (subject to negotiation), typically equating to 2-4 courses per year.

Successful applicants will exhibit their commitment to contribute to academia, documenting their capacity to attract research grants (for Associate and Full Professor positions) to fund their own research, PhDs, and Post Doc projects. Editorial experience and other active involvement in the development of the academic community is expected if you aim at an Associate or Full Professor position. Participation in outreach activities to society at large is seen as a merit. In both research and teaching, there are ample opportunities to engage in collaboration with the wide network of partner organizations at the Stockholm School of Economics, including among others ABB, Accenture, Ericsson, H&M, McKinsey & Co, Scania, SEB, national and international NGOs, and public organizations.

Conditions
We welcome applications on all levels of qualification (assistant, associate, full professor). Candidates employed at the level of assistant professor will be subject to a tenure evaluation. The tenure track is a three- plus three-year position, with promotion to tenured associate professor subject to satisfactory research and teaching performance.

Starting date for the position is negotiable, but preferably August 2023.

Salary is subject to negotiation and dependent on qualifications. SSE offers competitive salaries in a Swedish context. Occupational pension, a generous number of vacation days and additional benefits are also offered.

About the Department of Management and Organization (DMO)
Faculty at DMO (https://www.hhs.se/en/Research/Departments/DMO/) conduct research at the intersection of people, organizations and society. Research is multidisciplinary and applies both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and ranges from positivist to interpretive and critical approaches. A vision uniting the department is that its research should contribute to driving responsible change in business and society.

The department has a high-performance research orientation and culture. Faculty members are expected to be committed researchers and to regularly publish in top journals within their respective fields. Our tenure and professor evaluations reflect this and rely, among other things, on the AJG (3-4*) and FT50 lists as indicators of research quality. Besides publishing, our faculty members serve on international editorial boards and have other important positions reflecting their engagement in the academic community and society.
