We are looking for a Legal Counsel to support the Nordic region and be responsible for legal and compliance support to all Mercer's business in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Publiceringsdatum2014-01-23Dina arbetsuppgifterThe overall responsibility will be to act as a legal counsel to the senior management and the business in the four Nordic countries. As a member of the Nordic Management Leadership Team you will provide advice on the Nordic business in regards to legal issues and developments as well as local regulations and policies. More specifically this means that you will be:
• Drafting contractual and other legal documentation, including, reviewing and negotiating local and global agreements (local agreements will often be in local languages).
• Support the business with local regulations in particular in relation to insurance broking and pensions matters.
• Organizing and overseeing Board and Risk Committee meetings and ensuring compliance with good corporate governance practices and local law and regulation.
• Implementing MMC and Mercer compliance policies.
• Assisting on the handling of Errors & Omissions in the Nordic Region.
• Anticipating emerging issues based on knowledge of business goals.
• Educate business colleagues on key legal issues and developments
You will report to the Chief Legal Counsel for EuroPac located in London and be a member of the European Legal team. Work place is optional between Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo or Stockholm but you will be travelling regularly, mainly to the three other head offices in the Nordics.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
We see that you hold a Master in Law and have experience from law firms in the Nordic Countries also as inhouse-legal counsel or advisor in a large company, preferrably on Nordic level. Furthermore you have knowledge in Contract law, Insurance Broking law, Pensions law, Privacy law as well as Conflicts of interest and M&A transactions.
You are an ambitious person with a lot of energy that are willing to go the extra mile to add value to the internal client's business. You communicate and influence effectively to be able to apply the law to gain a business advantage. You are good at prioritising and focus on the critical factors and deliver on goals. You have a legal document drafting skill in both English and the Nordic languages.
