We are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Production Preparation group within Axis's Operations department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will work with design of production fixtures, test fixtures and other product specific equipment that is needed to produce Axis products with the high quality level that Axis stands for.
The job includes:
• Development and improvement of complex production equipment e.g. used to align sensor and lens or verify alignment in production.
• Support development projects with product unique adaptors for the production equipment.
• Administrate drawings and 3D-models for fixtures and other production equipment.
• With input from the Design for Manufacturing engineer or Production Test engineers, develop and procure product or process unique equipment.
As a Mechanical Engineer within Operations you will play a key role within the product development phase to design and ensure that we have the right production equipment and fixture available to produce our high quality products at our manufacturing partners.
The role includes travelling for approximately 20 days a year.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for an open minded and driven individual who always takes responsibility for his/her tasks. We also believe that you are willing to share ideas, knowledge and experience on a daily basis to further develop our creative and open environment. Hence, good communication skills and an easygoing attitude are vital.
You have:
• A Master in Mechanical Engineering and/or relevant experience within mechanical design.
• A few years’ experience from fixture design and production of moving mechanics is required and will come in use in your daily work.
• Very good communication skills in English
We also believe that you have experience in 3D CAD - preferably Creo (Pro/Engineer). Design experience from Mechatronics, Automation and Optics is considered an advantage.
THE PRODUCTION PREPARATION GROUP
The Production Preparation group is involved in all stages of a products lifetime. During development of new products the group contributes with Industrialization project management, Design for Manufacturing and product data management in PDM and ERP system. In serial production the group perform product transfers between production sites, supports production and introduces product changes. The main collaboration is with R&D, EMS’s, the Configuration & Logistic Centers and the quality department.
