Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead a team of Test & Validation engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development.
Drive and be accountable for delivery of the project activities regarding test and validation.
Establish team structure and define roles to execute validation for cell projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, production, and quality assurance, to align test & validation activities with project timelines and objectives.
Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between customers and Northvolt's internal stakeholders.
Work with the test and validation team on strategy, roadmap and execution.
Grow a healthy, safe and collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values.
Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of validation activities, including protocols, reports, and deviations, in compliance with company procedures and regulatory standards.
Definition and release of relevant processes, procedures, and methods for respective area.
Clarify internal or external (customer) escalations within respective area.
Set objectives for team members based on the team and project objectives and timeline.
Follow up and initiate corrective actions if needed.
Provide training and guidance for team members and other stakeholders on validation processes, protocols, and best practices.
Support the team on validation data analysis to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance validation processes and increase efficiency.
Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in a technical role in development of lithium-ion based technologies (with focus on Validation, Cell Design, Process).
Strong knowledge of validation principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
Experience in managing a validation team or test facility.
Experience with risk assessment techniques (e.g., FMEA) and statistical analysis tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
Familiarity with battery cell manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials is a plus.
Specific skills:
Proven track record of leading and developing a high-profile team in an international environment.
Knowledge of battery cell testing methods and standards (e.g., UN38.3, IEC 62133) is a plus.
Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
Experience with validation software systems is a plus.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate fluently and humbly with all types of different humans choosing effective methods based on context, audience and purpose.
Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management.
Working experience with OEM customers is a plus
