The function of Global Operations & Quality is proud to be producing and distributing top quality engines to most corners of the world, upholding the Volvo Penta brand and reputation. The Vara plant consists of 250 employees who all contribute to this process.
The role
In the role as Manager for Quality and Environment you are responsible for the function leading, developing and delivering on the quality and environmental objectives for the plant. Reporting to the position is the line manager for product quality support, as well as two quality technicians working with product and process quality, and one environmental coordinator.
The Quality & Environment function is responsible for:
Securing and developing product quality and process quality, supporting the value chain. The product quality support department is working with product quality, from supplier quality and incoming inspection to securing product quality for inhouse production processes.
Leading the organization in fulfilling the quality and environment management system including internal and external audits.
Defining and executing on sustainability strategy as well as to secure that environmental regulations are monitored and fulfilled.
Motivating, supporting and educating the organization in quality methods, tools, standards, and continuous improvement.
As Manager for Quality and Environment you are also an important member of the plant management team where you actively work and contribute to the development and success of the whole site. You report directly to the plant manager. The role consists of work both on an operative level to handle everyday tasks and challenges and work on a strategic level. Collaboration is an important part of the role, both with all functions at the site, as well as with several functions and networks within the global organization.
Who are you?
You hold a university degree in quality, engineering or equivalent and have several years of work experience from similar positions in the manufacturing industry. You are self-driven, analytical and a doer who works in a structured way.
You are passionate about people development and an experienced leader who knows how to encourage, motivate, and bring out the best in your team and the whole organization to take quality and environment to the next level securing the future of the plant. You love challenges and you possess the ability to see opportunities where others see obstacles. You understand organizational dynamics and that business success originates from respectful relationships, continuous learning and genuine trust. You are curious about change and would like to play a key role in the transformation towards the future for the Volvo Penta Vara Operations.
