Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative manufacturing processes that makes the manufacturing of car bodies more efficient. At Manufacturing Engineering BIW within Manufacturing, we have a team that develops the future manufacturing processes for our future EV cars.
Our purpose is to develop and secure the best available techniques, develop the new manufacturing processes, develop standards and work in close collaboration with our colleagues at R&D. Strategic work, cost estimations, and manufacturability analysis of machined components is a major part of our daily work. In some cases, we also set up learning sessions. We work closely together with all our customers, such as R&D, manufacturing shops worldwide and procurement.
You will be a part of a highly skilled team with many different competences. We have a great team spirit, where everyone is included and dedicated to secure our product and we work with an excellent quality and support.
What you will do
As a Machining Engineer you will be responsible for cost estimations for inhouse tooling and machinery needs. You'll ensure competence, working methods and methods within the machining engineering field.
You will work with the design team from the beginning of the design and provide insight into what will be possible with the restrictions of the materials, tools and equipment they have to work with.
The truly creative part of the machining engineer role comes up when a new and anticipated challenge comes up from the design or manufacturing processes. When these challenges come up then the machining engineer gets to be truly creative in finding a solution.
Besides the scope of work mentioned above, you will also:
• Quality and Geometry Assurance of machined components.
• Material knowledge aluminum alloys.
• Feasibility judgements on CAD design.
Are you our new colleague?
Are you a curious, positive and self-motivated individual that love problem solving alongside a background as a M.Sc. within Production, Mechanical or Materials engineering? extensive of experience from machining industry. Then we believe you could be perfect for this position.
To be successful and to thrive in this position you'll need to have an extensive interest in technology and it's highly meritorious if you have knowledge from automotive industry.
Besides above, you need to have excellent skills in English - both written and spoken, good knowledge of PC environment.
