At Volvo Cars Supply Chain Management, we manage and develop a global inbound supply chain that is constantly evolving to be ready for the future. We are now looking for a Logistics Engineer within the Inbound Logistics Launch and Carrier Management team for our transformation journey.
Working together with internal and external stakeholders to find the best-in-class standards, tools, processes, and methods. We are a small team with EMEA responsibility, that is now looking for a colleague to complement our team of logistics engineers.
What you will do
At Inbound Logistics Launch & Carrier Management team, you are part of a supply chain team that secures that right prerequisites are set to continuously run our transport network.
To make this happen, we secure parameters for all incoming transportation.
Implementation of projects for both new carriers as well as new processes/set up. We do this in collaboration with mainly Inbound operations, engineering, and procurement along with other internal areas.
We also drive the carrier dialogues from a Carrier Management and implementation perspective.
The team is split in Launch & Master Data team and Carrier Manager team.
The Launch and Master Data team has a EMEA responsibility to support the operational transports with efficiency and system settings in running business, during changes and in new implementation of flows.
We are the team that are secure that the transport standard network and related master data is implemented in all our internal logistics systems and to all stakeholders in timely matter before going live.
We manage projects related to our area and you will participate in projects connected to our area and drive projects initiated from us.
We are also making sure that the bank holiday planning is set correct in our systems and that all stakeholders know the expectations and prerequisite in time to run.
The team has 5 members including 4 logistic engineers and 1 team leader.
You will work on strategic tasks & projects as well as managing hands on tasks & operational support.
Launch and Master Data team responsibilities / main tasks:
• Responsible that master data is implemented correct in all systems and that its desk procedures are updated and correct.
• Responsible for all routes, route implementation and its master data in the planning systems.
• Coordinate continuous improvements with all involved departments.
• Projects participation and lead for projects connected to our operations.
• Bank/Public Holiday Planning, Yearly prolongation planning for all routes
• Billing errors, Investigate and resolve errors.
This role reports to the Head of Inbound logistics Launch and Carrier Management.
Do you fit the profile?
* Ideally, the ideal candidate has a university degree in industrial engineering with a focus on supply chain / logistics management. Also possess a minimum of 3 years of working experience, preferably within automotive. Or relevant experience that we consider as similar.
* Experience from working in transport flow management in EMEA - this is important.
* You have strong communication skills, ability to build relations and trust with collogues and stakeholders is key for the role.
* Being proficient and having an interest in managing and analyzing big data sets.
* Possess well established Excel and data visualisation (PowerBI or Tableau) and iTMS skills.
* You will have a sharp eye for details both in understanding complex problems/processes and ability to translate this into clear and condensed presentations both visual and verbal.
* As a person, you are self-driven with strong analytical and organizational skills and can achieve results. You have effective verbal and written communication, and you are motivated by working in a global organization and in cross functional teams.
* Experience from designing/analyzing transportation network and/or creating operational transport routes, is a requirement.
* We would like you to be experienced in working on logistics projects as project participation is a key activity in this team.
