We are looking for a Lead Service Designer who wants to spearhead user research, uncover insight into customer jobs, pains and gains and be a creative force of nature in a multi-disciplinary team searching for new ways to innovate and create value.

Job description
Toyota Material Handling Europe is one of the world's largest suppliers of material handling solutions, both within forklifts and related products and services. The subsidiary Logistics Solutions (TMHLS), a central part of the development and innovation part of Toyota Material Handling, is located at Lindholmen in Gothenburg. Logistics Solutions develops solutions for warehouse Automation and has 150 employees.

Toyota Material Handling Europe has more than 12.000 employees in 21 sales companies and development and manufacturing units in Sweden, Italy, and France. We are a forward-thinking company that develops the future of Logistics and Material Handling by creating self-driving vehicles used in warehouses.

As a Lead Service Designer, you will work with processes and activities such as user interviews, customer journeys, storytelling, and demos. The purpose of the job is to study users and discover unmet needs, ideate features, and validate that the ideas will create real value for users. It is a highly communicative and creative role that requires a passion for spending time with different types of users and internal stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

As a Lead Service Designer, it is essential to have the ability to engage with and study users and the context in which they work. Also, to identify patterns and develop personas. Some of your main tasks will also include the following:

* Map users' jobs, pains, and gains by observing and interviewing
* Ideate sketches and mock-ups in a cross-disciplinary creative process
* Communicating ideas, sketches and mock-ups with users and stakeholders
* Develop storytelling to explain user needs and solution ideas
* Test ideas with users through storytelling, sketching and prototyping - validate the value
* Drive user-centric innovation

As a person, you are curious and passionate about understanding the true need of users. You thrive in a cross-disciplinary team where you influence team members with skills other than yourself. Your profile requires the following:

* Excellent knowledge about how to interview and discover user needs
* Excellent creative skills, being able to contribute with ideas in a cross-functional team
* Excellent sketching abilities, being able to explain own and others' ideas with ink, words, or digital mock-ups
* Several years of experience in exploratory design in an early stage of innovation
