What do we offer?
Every piece counts, and we are now looking for a developer who will work as project lead, to join our door trim team. The door trim team belongs to the department, ART Interior Room. This is a possibility for you to grow in a friendly environment with dedicated colleagues, aiming for our common goals. You will have the opportunity to follow car programs throughout the whole process and be challenged with new tasks during the journey. In this role, you will be given the possibility to improve your leadership skills and be able to deepen your technical knowledge within the system area.
What will you do?
You will be responsible for securing project deliveries in accordance with a time plan, technical solution, and cost. Together with the team, you will be responsible for the function, performance, and quality of our parts.
The role requires close contact with all developers within the team, other areas within R&D, design, procurement, our suppliers, and also our Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Team Manager. The development team is designing all parts within their responsibility area in a "build-to-print" set-up where most of the engineering work is done in-house.
Who are you?
We believe that you have technical education, preferably a bachelor's degree in Engineering, and at least 3-5 years of experience in product development and the automotive industry. You need to be fluent in English and easy to communicate and express yourself in writing, speaking, and presentations. You will also need a valid driver's license for this role.
Meritorious if you have:
• Experience from earlier lead engineering roles,
• Experience from working in an agile self-organized development team,
• Knowledge about Volvo Cars way of working and the systems that are used for product development,
• Knowledge of the Agile SAFe framework.
Competence and experience are important, but personality is key!
We are looking for someone who is collaborative and organized, interested in working with people and processes, in a constantly changing environment. You possess great communication skills and are self-motivated with a strong delivery orientation. Also, we believe that you are a self-starter person who is highly motivated to take up challenging tasks. We believe that you are an organized, structured person who is able to make decisions based on the best knowledge, and eager to work in a team and cooperate with other people to create a new network. Being creative and open-minded with a holistic mindset will be a requirement to perform in this role. Last but not least you need to be customer-oriented.
