Kungsholmens Gymnasium/Stockholms Musikgymnasium is a popular inner-city school with 1150 students. The school's vision is "Education and Culture for an Active Influence in a Globalised World." All the programmes offered in the school prepare students for University studies. The students are well-motivated to study and are also active in our many clubs and societies ranging from our Debating Society to the KGIF Sports club.
The teachers work in teams and the prioritised areas of development in the school are:
1. Developing integration between subject areas to reduce student workload.
2. Integration of the work of the Student Health Team into the teaching teams.
3. Development of formative ways of working.
4. Globalisation and internationalisation in the classroom.
1 plats(er). Physics Teacher for teaching students in the International Section of our school. Students reading the Natural Science Programme with courses in Physics 1 and 2.
We have a vacancy for a teacher of Physics on the Natural Science programme. The programme is taught in English for the students in the International Section of the school.
As well as teaching Physics, our teachers work in teams where they are encouraged to work with integration within the programme so that students will see the links between subject areas.
Teachers are also mentors for a group of students and have the responsiblity of following that group of students more closely and being the link between the school and the home.
A teaching qualification in Physics is required. Documented experience of working as a teacher within the subject area is also required.
Knowledge of English at native speaker level is a necessity.
The school timetable will be available mid August and this will determine the working hours.
Löneform: Månadslön. Individual salary based on qualifications and experience.
Anställningsform: Tidsbegränsad.
Krav på arbetslivserfarenhet: Erfarenhet krävs.
Varaktighet: 6 månader eller längre. One academic year from 12 August 2013 until 15 June 2014.
Arbetstid: Dagtid. Working according to the Teacher's agreement with 35 hours per week on premises and 45 hours per week in total during term time.
