We are looking for a laboratory assistant in Biomedicine/Toxicology for a fixed-term position at the School of Medical Sciences at Örebro University.

Background
The laboratory assistant will join the NanoSafety2 project at Örebro University, which focuses on the toxicity assessment of particle emissions from additive manufacturing (also known as industrial 3D printing). The project is carried out in close collaboration with leading academic and industry partners.

We are seeking a laboratory assistant with skills and experience in cell culturing and in vitro toxicity testing, particularly in applying advanced screening tools, such as high-content imaging (Cell Painting) to uncover effects of exposure to (nano)particles and chemicals.

The position is hosted by the School of Medical Sciences (MV) at Örebro University, which is a modern, expansive university with around 1,600 employees and 17,000 students, and with an outstanding research activity. The project is a teamwork between the research environments the Inflammatory Response and Infection Susceptibility Center (iRiSC) and Man-Technology-Environment (MTM) research center at Örebro University, and the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AMM) at the Örebro University Hospital. The position will perform research tasks at both campuses and have support by a project group with expertise from the disciplines of the project.

Duties and responsibilities
Duties consist of laboratory work in ongoing research activities with a focus on cell culture work, cell lab maintenance, cell-based assays, and assistance during sampling campaigns at NanoSafety2's industry partners.

Qualifications
The person we are looking for has a BSc or MSc in the area of biology or a related field.

You should have relevant laboratory experience in cell culturing and cell-based assays. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential. Experience with high-content imaging is advantageous. You should be organized, methodical, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Fluency in Swedish and English is required.

Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities; the ability to work independently and engage with other people in a way that instils confidence; and a good track-record when it comes to cooperation.

We expect you to be flexible and open to change and that you take a quality-driven and responsible approach to your duties.
