We are now looking for a new team member to ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) in Stockholm. You will work as a Junior Scientific Expert and support the Emergency preparedness and response support section.
This is a temporary assignment starting as soon as possible and until end of June. For the right person there is a good chance of extension of the assignment.
ECDC has introduced a hybrid working model with a minimum presence in the office of 2 days/week. It is a requirement that you are based in Sweden or can relocate here immediately. No remote work (from another country/city) is possible for this position.

Responsibilities
Facilitate the development and revision of working instructions,
Support the guidance development, the preparations of a conference, and the process for shaping a coordinated approach for ECDC to support Member States in the revision of National (Pandemic) Preparedness/Health Emergency Plans, taking into account lessons-learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic, Public Health and Social Measures (PHSM) and new EU legislation,
Contribute to the coordination of ECDC internal response operations
Provide support to the team in charge of the development and maintenance of EpiPulse (online portal for European public health authorities and global partners to collect, analyse, share, and discuss infectious disease data) and EWRS (a tool with restricted access for monitoring public health threats in the EU).
Contribute to the implementation of the Framework Contract on Emergency preparedness trainings for workforce capacity building
Qualifications
Essential:
Experience in public health
Organisation and coordination skills
Good understanding of the collaboration between EU institutions and EU/EEA Member States
Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
Very good MS office skills
Very good English language skills
Desirable:
Experience in preparedness and response work
Experience in infectious disease outbreak investigation and risk assessment
Experience with project management
