Your Role
As a Junior Embedded Firmware Developer, you will be an integral part of our engineering team, assisting in the development and enhancement of firmware. Your responsibilities will include writing, testing, and debugging firmware under the guidance of senior developers to ensure reliability and functionality in our devices. You will collaborate closely with senior developers, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams to support the delivery of robust embedded solutions. This position offers a great opportunity to develop your technical skills, contribute to innovative projects, and grow your career in embedded systems and security technologies.
Your Responsibilities
Write and maintain robust firmware that runs on current and future Kisi products on an industrial strength embedded platform with baked-in support for secure boot and OTA.
Ensure rigid acceptance tests and supervise the rollout of new products and features to our remotely managed worldwide fleet of hardware devices together with our QA engineers.
Improve efficiency of factory processes by automating its various flows such as quality assurance, registration and labeling to ensure devices are delivered on quality.
Participate in the selection process for our next generation IoT platform provider with strict security and business continuity requirements.

Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - degree preferred.
1-3 years of experience in embedded firmware development or relevant internships/projects, with a strong interest in embedded systems and firmware.
Basic understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, RTOS, and hardware-software integration. Familiarity with platforms like ARM, PIC, and AVR is a plus. Proficiency in C and C++ with an understanding of Assembly is preferred.
Some experience with debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, and GDB) and a willingness to learn and apply unit and integration testing methodologies to ensure firmware reliability.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. Ability to troubleshoot and debug firmware issues with guidance.
Ability to create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation. A commitment to learning new technologies, staying updated with industry trends, and continuous improvement in embedded systems and firmware development.
