MSF Sweden was founded by Swedish doctors in 1993. As a partner in the international MSF movement, MSF Sweden exists to assist populations in danger by recruiting medical and non-medical volunteers, by raising funds and by raising awareness and pressuring for. From 1993 onward, as MSF has established itself in Swedish society as one of foremost humanitarian organisations (accentuated by MSF receiving the Nobel Peace prize in 1999).
The position
The IT responsible has responsibility for key aspects of IT network and service delivery to the Office of MSF Sweden. Critical tasks of this position include IT asset maintenance and to resolve system and user problems.
Duties and responsibilities
• Under the direction of the Office Manager, provide assistance to system users IT network functionality and resolve IT problems as encountered by users.
• Efficiently receive, respond to, record and analyse user problems and requests to maintain effective office working environment, IT network functionality.
• Assist with maintenance of user and back up systems.
• Provide initial basic training to MSF staff on MSF system and related main applications.
• Supervision of IT contractors working with MSF Sweden
• Other duties as directed.
Skills and experience
Knowledge of one or more of the following areas is highly desirable
• Experiences and skills administrating a medium sized Microsoft network.
• A proven knowledge of configuring and maintaining the Active Directory and Group Policies.
• Demonstrated high level proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to resolve printer and hardware technical problems.
• Experience and strong knowledge how to perform proper documentation.
• Previous experience in IT administration, including specific and demonstrated experience in supporting effective technical management of an IT office network.
• Ability to work under pressure and to be able to prioritise between tasks.
• Good TCP/IP network knowledge, and understanding, for the proper maintenance and configuration.
• Ability to work with limited supervision, sound organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet daily deadlines and reliably respond to urgent and high level needs for assistance.
• Good communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken Swedish and English demonstrated ability to report on technical requirements, reflecting system and user needs.
• High level interpersonal and liaison skills, including demonstrated ability to work flexibly and cooperatively in a cross-cultural environment.
Desirable
• Understanding and skills of Terminal Services, load balanced servers and published applications.
• Administrate and use RIS/Windows Deployment services for system related packages and images.
• Working knowledge with VPN connections + firewall
• Experience from Video Conference system
• Experience from Ericsson telephone switchboard system
• Experience from NGO sector
