For our client we are looking for an investment analyst. Our clients operations focus on the Nordic and Baltic countries, Russia, and Poland. They are one of the largest power generator in the Nordic countries, and among the leading heat producers globally. Within electricity companies, Their carbon exposure is among the lowest in Europe.
Worktasks
The Investment Analysis team within Industrial Intelligence & Investment Analysis function is a centralized analysis center responsible for providing investment analysis services for the Hydro Power and Technology, Heat Electricity Sales and Solutions and Nuclear and Thermal Power divisions. We also continuously develop analysis concepts and provide training on investment appraisal to investment process stakeholders.
We are now looking for a fresh and energetic Investment Analyst to join our team in either Stockholm, with readiness for occasional travel (initially you will be based in Espoo, Finland, to get startet). In your role, you will support the business development organizations of the different divisions by providing investment analysis to projects that vary in size and complexity.
Typical challenges that you will come across in your work can include these and many more:
• Evaluation of the optimal timing and scope of a refurbishment project
• Analysis of asset management options available to improve a district heat network's profitability
• Estimation of the break-even selling price of a business
Process-wise the role will feature the following responsibilities per each case analysis:
• Diligently identifying and framing business problems and modelling them into a valuation
• Collecting input and assumptions from various internal and external stakeholders, databases and public sources
• Analysing the assumptions objectively and challenging the inputs whenever needed
• Preparing the relevant decision-making materials
You will be involved hands-on in large development/investment projects. This position offers you an excellent place to learn the principles of the asset-intensive energy business and to further develop your problem-solving and analytical skills in a dynamic business setting. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to learn from our engaged analysis team and to liaise with key project and business developers, other key experts, and managers within the company.
Your profile
We are looking for the sharpest minds and the most eager young professionals out there.
We expect the following attributes from a successful candidate:
• Master's degree in engineering and/or economics with an outstanding academic record
• Ability to quickly understand and identify complex interrelationships and issues of key importance
• Attentiveness to detail while maintaining view of the larger context
• Excellent skills in MS Excel (preferably also Visual Basic) and PowerPoint
• Fluency in English and Finnish or Swedish; skills in further languages such as Russian or French are considered to your advantage
• Earlier experience in analyst work and other IT skills are considered a merit
As a person, you are enthusiastic about problem framing and solving, and are prepared for the iterative working style in the team. Furthermore, you are flexible and have good stress tolerance. We expect you to have a positively critical attitude, as well as the ability communicate in a collaborative and constructive manner.
