hela Sverige The Volvo Group International Graduate Programme gives you a unique opportunity to gain a holistic view of the Volvo Group and to kick-start your career through international assignments, work in different parts of the organization, networking, and professional and personal development. Upon completion of the programme, you will continue to work in the position you were recruited.
The programme runs for 12 months and includes a combination of common and individual graduate activities and day-to-day work at the home company. It consists of three weeks of common development activities at different locations globally, where the participants meet and network. Common activities in the latest programme took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, Beijing/Shanghai, China and Greensboro, USA.
The programme also includes learning activities in your home organisation and a three months international assignment.
During the programme you will participate in training sessions covering fundamental Group concepts, such as diversity, personal development, project management, cross cultural communication etc.

Position:
With origins dating back more than a hundred years, today GTO Powertrain Production Skövde is a world class production facility and is the biggest foundry and machining plant in the world for heavy duty diesel engines. Our greatest strength is our skilled and committed workforce, but also in advanced casting techniques, high levelled automation machining and customer and order oriented assembly.
Within Volvo Powertrain we act as one team which means that being a part of the organization in Skövde also gives you access to the global world of Volvo Powertrain.
Your role as Production Engineer/Project Leader will be to work with continuous improvements for the present as well as for the future production system.
Your responsibility will be to drive issues regarding quality, method, manning, capacity and ergonomics with the purpose to continuously eliminate waste. Most of the work is done in cross-functional teams.
You will also take part in or lead investment projects regarding production engineering.
An important assignment for the Production Engineer/ Project Leader at VPT Skövde is to support the implementation of Volvo Production System (VPS). VPS includes standardized tools and way of working with focus on improvements in quality, safety, environment and cost.
Overall requirements:
Valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen
Excellent spoken and written English & Swedish (Additional languages are given merit)
Maximum of two years previous work-experience after graduation
Master degree
Additional:
Some connection to the area (Skaraborg) and/or prior experience of relocation for education or work is desired
Education and possible specialisation:
Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
