The Center of Excellence is a unit at Group IT a large multi-cultural organization with 800+ employees and 150+ contractors located mainly in 7 countries Sweden, Poland, India, France, US, Brazil, USA, and Belgium.
Within the COE there are individual centers of excellence for Emerging Technologies & Architecture, BI & Analytics, SAP, Document Management, Project Management Practice, Consulting & Change Management, Development Practice, as well as the Volvo Group IT Function Cyber Security.

Role description
As an Information Architect you are accountable to address business requirements on data to ensure the overall integrity and implementation of the enterprise information and data model in the data North Star architecture, including its use and impact on the business.
Driven by business objectives and outcomes you as an Information Architect will support multiple data domains across all TD/BA/GF's within Volvo Group. You create deliverables to create understanding of the baseline (as-is) situation and the target (to-be) goal as well as the transition roadmaps. You will interact and coordinate with many different senior stakeholders. You have the ability to communicate with both businesspeople and technicians, build relationships and create motivation.
Core responsibilities as Information Architect:
Support the development and maintenance of the enterprise information architecture with focus on Enterprise Information and Data models, aligning with the overall North Star IT Architecture and roadmap
Support architecture related tasks in both one-time (project) and Run-time activities (maintenance)
Understanding business drivers, expectations and needs for information and data modeling
Act as a liaison to the TD/BA/GF within Volvo Group to ensure the architectural consistency of the Enterprise Information / Data models, e.g. alignment of definitions and models
Interacts with Information Owners and Business Information Architects to ensure the alignment and support of the Enterprise Information / Data models for each data domain
Support in building information asset awareness and the importance of value-, cost- and risk dimensions in close collaboration with Information Owners
Provide consulting support within projects to ensure the project is aligned with the overall enterprise information / data model
Support in managing and governing the architecture (incl. definitione and structure) of business-critical information assets throughout the end to end lifecycle
Support in data governance operations and strategy, coordinate people and activities to meet data governance goals
Supports reduction of complexity in business processes, information, applications and integration
Follow the overall architectural processes, policies and code of conduct within Volvo Group
Participate in reviews of architecture concepts and solutions
Performs modeling workshops
Work as information architect evangelist within Volvo Group, frequently meeting and interfacing with colleagues around the global Volvo Group organization
Coaching junior employees in Information Architecture e.g. Information/Data Modeling
Who are you?
Technical Skills required:
University degree, preferably computer science or related field
Minimum 5 years of documented experience as an Information Architect
Strong experience and knowledge within Data Management with focus on Data Modeling, Data Quality, Data Lineage, MDM and Meta Data
Hands on experience in Logical and Physical Data Modeling
Strong knowledge of Data Governance
Strong knowledge about Enterprise Architecture with focus on Information Management
Strong knowledge within BI & Data Analytics
Good knowledge of one or more data modeling tools
The ability to have a holistic approach
Knowledge of Agile framework
