Vironova is now searching for an in-house Life Sciences Application Specialist to act both as an internal technical resource and as a consultant and trainer for customers, exploring opportunities to develop analytical insights through the proper use of Vironova software and microscopy solutions.
You will be based in Stockholm and work closely with your Applications Manager and international team of colleagues that are part of the marketing team.
You will:
After assessing the application's specific challenges and needs, you will, in collaboration with many of Vironova's departments, such as sales, R&D and software development, be in charge of performing experimental analysis to develop processes which provide reliable information from which users can make informed decisions in process development and manufacturing environments. The role will have plenty of hands-on TEM sample preparation, imaging and analysis, so a strong familiarity with these processes and work in a laboratory environment is a requirement.
You will also perform hands-on training as well as scientific coaching (experimental plan designs and result analysis) as well as being a strong communicator for exchanging observations, results and ideas both internally and externally.
Internal product process development, continuous support and trouble-shooting are also areas which the role will be involved with, working alongside Vironova's instruments and delivery departments.
You will stepwise grow into the role of generating and growing the business; planning and executing product demonstrations and trials; and act as an internal product specialist to assist Product Owners and R&D in the development of new applications and improvement of current ones.
What you need to succeed:
With the extensive cross departmental work of the role and becoming the expert on both the hardware and the software; good communication is key and a sought after quality in the applicant.
As you will join a scientific team focused on solving analytical challenges for our clients, you need to have:
• A minimum of a master's degree in Applied Biology, Sciences or Biotechnology Engineer or equivalent experience
• Experience in working in a laboratory environment where BLS II experience is a merit
• TEM sample preparation and imaging familiarity is a strong advantage
• Up to 0-3 years of experience in the field of biotechnology/biopharma
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to develop relationships with customers and within Vironova
• Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
It is advantageous if you have previous experience with electron microscopy and a good understanding of image analysis techniques. Experience of expression in upstream and downstream processes as well as relevant life science knowledge in virology/gene therapy/vaccines a plus.
