Service Desk is today an outsourced IT support service for all If Nordic employees. If has all continually looked for improvements to meet business demands, and have recently made decision to insource the Service Desk and Onsite Support. We are now looking for a skilled and experienced leader who sees the opportunity in taking on a key role in setting up and manage a new organization and procedures as Head of Nordic Service Desk.

The Nordic Service Desk will be part of IT Services. IT Services is responsible for IT operations, Core infrastructure and Procurement of all IT related services, licenses and supplies for If Insurance. We provide this through a number of vendors – multisourcing being a key to provide value for money to If. Our employees as well as our customers rely on that IT works, is modern and cost efficient.

During the coming months the Service Desk insourcing project will set up a new service concept and function within If. Along with cost benefits and a number of quality improvements, the new setup will enable If to provide better support for If applications and give further possibilities to optimize integration of external and internal services. IT will be more visible and closer to If’s business.

Responsibilities
As Head of Nordic Service Desk it will be your responsibility to ensure that the service provided towards If employees is relevant, easy to reach and aligned towards business needs. You will be responsible for developing the unit to be best in class, and that it will continually broaden its expertise in order to continually improve efficiency and relevance. This is a leadership position, with responsibility for a group of 40-45 people, which you will manage through your management team.
The role reports to the Head of IT Services, and is part of the management group for IT Services.

Qualifications
To be our ideal candidate you have experience in setting up and driving Service Desk. You have been a manager for big functions and have wide experience in recruiting people. Your leadership skills are validated to be very good. You have overall understanding and knowledge of IT Operations, IT infrastructure and application development. You are structured, have a high energy level and like to work in a dynamic environment.

• are fluent in English and a Nordic language, both written and oral

The central Service Desk to support the Nordics is mainly based in Turku and Stockholm, where it is expected that you reside in either city. You must be prepared for travel activities, primarily within the Nordic region.
