We are looking for a Head of Health & Safety Group Functions and HQ

Group Functions is a collective name for the different headquarter functions within the Volvo Group, such as Strategy, Finance, Communication, People & Culture and many more. The Group Functions own the Volvo Group agenda, provide strategic direction and targets for the Volvo Group, and apply global steering, advice, and service for the whole Group. Group Functions consists of around 3 000 employees globally.

Mission/Purpose of the job.

As the Head of Health & Safety Group Functions, you will collaborate with People & Culture Partners, managers, employees and safety representatives in health and safety issues. You will identify and drive health and safety projects, actions and events. Working proactively with mental health and wellbeing is of course a top priority. The main part will be the Swedish health and safety agenda for the Group Functions, but global coordination of the health and safety work is also included. As a part of the Swedish Center of Expertise (CoE) People and Culture department, you will also be responsible for different actions and initiatives on a national level.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
You will support the Group Functions' organizations to implement health and safety strategy, policies, methods, tools, and guidelines. Consult the organizations within Group Functions about their needs and translate that into health and safety activities. You will need to have big ears towards the organizations to understand their current state and needs, but also to ensure relevant communication and to promote the appropriate health and safety initiatives. You will challenge, coach, train and support people and teams in everything about health and safety.
You will be part of several cross-functional work environment committees (Swe: Arbetsmiljökommittéer), to secure good collaboration and work with health and safety.
You will be a member of the Swedish Health & Safety Functional Working Group that consists of representatives from all different organizations within the Volvo Group. In addition, you will also be responsible for driving various health and safety initiatives and actions for the entire Volvo Group in Sweden. Volvo Group has around 25.000 employees in Sweden.
You will also be the OHS site responsible for Group Functions in Sweden. That means being the contact person for our external Occupational Health Service (OHS) supplier and follow-up operational OHS performance, KPIs and costs for the different Group Functions.
You will cooperate closely with a highly professional global network of People & Culture Partners in the Group Functions. You will be part of the People & Culture Center of Expertise (CoE) Sweden team that consists of fourteen skilled and committed people and culture experts. You will report directly to the Head of CoE Sweden, Group People & Culture.

Preferred Educational and/or training qualifications and certificates
University degree, preferably master level in the Health & Safety area or equivalent
Formal training in leadership, communication and/or project management is valuable

Preferred Experience and Knowledge
Knowledge, experience, and interest in health, safety, and wellbeing, where health and wellbeing are the most important areas
Strong leadership and influencing skills. Leadership experience is valuable
Ability to coach, lead and to create trustful relations
Ability to translate business needs into health and safety priorities and strategic actions
Being an independent team player, you will be working autonomously but never be alone
Cross-functional and/or multi-cultural background is valuable
Proficiency in both the Swedish and English language is required
