This is us, your new colleagues

Our team, The Vehicle & Machine team, within the V.A.S. Technology organization, is accountable for integrating the on-board autonomous driving system in a base truck or machine and to develop the off-board safety system in a safe and efficient manner. It is our responsibility to ensure that the vehicles can be operated by the end user in an efficient and safe manner.

Together with Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) and Volvo Group Trucks Technology (VGTT) we interact closely to secure base machine and truck readiness. We take part in all life cycle phases, from the early specification and development phases throughout the maintenance and quality phases during customer operation.

We are yet a small but passionate and effective team that is stronger than the sum of its parts and ready to tackle the challenges we have ahead of us. We are now looking for a Group Manager for our newly formed Electrical & Electronic integrations team, to join us in our endeavor to create customer solutions that enhance safety, flexibility and productivity.

This is how you can make an impact

As Group Manager you are expected to inspire, support and lead the team as well as the product forward to success. How this is accomplished is partly up to you as the role is new and you will have the possibility to influence it.

As the Group Manager for Electrical & Electronic Integration you will lead a team of ~7 engineers and growing. You and the team are accountable for specifying and developing the electrical & electronic integration systems and components, allowing us to integrate the on- and off-board autonomous driving and safety system.

Who are you?

As you will be working with new technologies it is important that you have experience in product development within relevant engineering area, preferably from automotive industry. We also believe it is good to have previous leadership experience; that you can lead in change, support and develop people and inspire others. It is also important that you enjoy working with new technologies and take part in continuously improving our ways of working, as we are building something from scratch and touching new ground with what we do.
Prioritization and direction setting for short- and long-term activities are part of your day-to-day activities, therefore we value your ability to combine a holistic approach with a detail focused way of working. You will have the opportunity to work with different cultures cross-functionally, with internal as well as external stakeholders. Therefore, we see that it is important that you have good interpersonal and communication skills in combination with a business-orientation and clear customer focus.

It is beneficial to have experience from development of electrical & electronic systems and troubleshooting, both software and hardware. Experience from working within a safety standard development process, such as ISO 26262 or ISO 13849, is also something we will consider as a benefit.
We are actively working to establish teams that will take advantage of the strength inherent to differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality, among others. We find that well balanced work teams increase group dynamics, creativity and new approaches to solutions.
