We are part of GM Powertrain, a global company with business in 17 countries and with over 50 000 employees. Today GM Powertrain Sweden has around 800 employees situated at three sites: controls-, engine development and engine production in Södertälje, integration, controls- and transmissions development, engine development and exhaust aftertreatment in Trollhättan and production of manual transmissions in Göteborg.
GM Powertrain is looking for Engine Controls Engineer
• Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Application Engineer -
Duties:
You will be working within development and maintenance of the test simulators (Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)-systems which are used for manual and automated tests of powertrain controllers. This includes work with modelling, simulation, specification and set up of electrical interfaces. It also includes configuration, measurements and a close cooperation with hardware, software and algorithm developers. You will first and foremost be responsible of all software on the HIL-simulator, which simulates the surroundings i.e. engine/gearbox. The software is built with the help of Matlab/Simulink and real-time-workshop.
You will be a part of an international team who plans, prepare requirements and coordinates the activity.
Background:
You have a M.Sc. in Engineering, Electrical/Automotive or university degree in engineering, with an interest for Controls Systems and engine development.
You have knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and have basic knowledge of combustion engines and control technology. Earlier contact with test systems or simulators, built-in realtime systems, CAN communication, automated tests or software development is preferable. You are comfortable with test instruments, voltmeters, oscilloscope and doing tests inside the car.
You have good knowledge in English, both written and verbal and find it easy to cooperate with GM colleagues in Europe and USA.
