Working in PT&D you will work primarily with our portfolio of synthetic development projects we design the commercial products and develop the associated manufacturing processes for the active pharmaceutical ingredient, the drug product (oral, parenteral or inhaled) and where necessary, the device before transferring these to our manufacturing sites. We continue to provide technical support to these products throughout their commercial lifecycle. We are also accountable for patient supply across AZ's portfolio of clinical studies.

PT&D integrates scientific experts (pharmaceutical science, chemistry, analytical science, digital science) with engineers, supply experts, project leaders, lean practitioners and programme management experts. The development and introduction of new science and technology is a core accountability. Our priorities include the manufacture and characterization of complex molecules (e.g., oligonucleotides), continuous manufacturing processes, digital science and establishing our new advanced manufacturing facility in Ireland.

As the Global HRBP, Pharmaceutical Technology & Development you will be a key member of the team reporting to the HR VP, Global Operations, IT and Sustainability. You will provide end to end Human Resources support to the Pharmaceutical Technology & Development organization.

You will have full responsibility for driving the people strategy and partnering with the SVP, PT&D Operations and leadership team, located in the UK, US and Sweden.

The location for the role is Gothenburg or Macclesfield and will work across the matrix with Global Operations HR.

Our PT&D teams are the vital link between our ground-breaking science R&D units and Operations in support of the patients whose lives are transformed by our treatments. The PT&D organization is responsible for providing expert technical support to commercial products manufactured internally at AZ sites and externally at contractors, spanning across all therapeutic areas and modalities.

The Role:

You will understand and translate the PT&D business strategy into people plans, you will apply your strong business and technical acumen, data-driven insights and HR expertise to be a real strategic partner to the business.

You will be responsible for implementing the people plan with a focus on:

Strategic Workforce planning, building future capabilities

Leading the Inclusion & Diversity strategy and actions

Talent development and succession planning
*

Leadership coaching and team effectiveness, building culture and driving employee engagement



Requirements:

You will bring to the role strong business acumen in terms of how to optimize manufacturing organizations, what the business strategies are, and how financial and commercial acumen are critical considerations that shape HR and people plans. In the role you will build on that acumen to develop knowledge of how Global Operations enables the success of the business.

People data and interpreting analytics are essential in providing insights and solutions to drive decision making. You will be comfortable driving and challenging the business leaders where you can add a differing view point/consideration.

Requirements for the role:

Educated to Degree level or equivalent

Experience of working globally
*

Technical HR knowledge / skills associated several of the following disciplines - Talent Management, Inclusion & Diversity Leadership Development, Strategic Workforce Planning / Resourcing, Performance & Reward, OD and organisational change
*

Strong project management skills and ability to demonstrate experience of managing complex HR strategies through a complete project life-cycle
*

Significant strategic HR experience, including managing complex business change
*

Self-starter with a drive to make things happen at pace
*

Strong emotional intelligence, listening, influencing and coaching skills
*

Resilience
*

Excellent commercial and analytical skills
