• Drive and own the purchasing objectives for the given commodity and its sub-commodities
• Develop and implement the Global Commodity strategy for both operations and aftermarket
• Owns QDC performance for the global commodity and provide critical supplier management support in line with the Volvo CE escalation process.
• Owns the Supplier Relationship Management for the supply base, including supplier selection/contracting/relationship/negotiation to support Volvo and Volvo CE strategic objectives to deliver a clear competitive advantage
• Manage the development of the given (sub) commodity team together with the regions
• Accountable and responsible for the management and delivering of the Year on Year Material Productivity Pipeline with a focus on the coming 3 years.
• Secure strong cross functional cooperation between Purchasing and various internal stakeholders
• Work in accordance with the Volvo CE processes, the Volvo Way, and the Volvo values and behaviors
• Any others tasks deemed necessary to the position
Required knowledge and experience
• University/college graduated, or equivalent demonstrable experience
• Experience in Commodity Purchasing, Supplier Development, Project Management or Engineering is an important factor.
• Fluent in English both written and verbal, other languages considered an asset
• More than three (3) years of experience from sourcing in international environment
• Strong ability to drive changes within an international environment
• Highly dynamic in idea generation and always ?thinking out of the box? in practical ways
• Highly dynamic in bringing people together to support his ideas
• Proven ability to identify & prioritize commercial sourcing opportunities and drive through to commitments in resources and plans
• Strong Business mindset with good engineering background
• Entrepreneurial thinking and wish to develop new solutions for sourcing opportunities to bring competitive advantage
• Able to work well under pressure
• Good communication skills
• Achievement driven following the Volvo core values
• Team Player
• Able to travel (internationally and domestic) up to 30%
