The Electromobility Team is multinational, dynamic, highly motivated and driven group of people that are acting cross functionally around the world and supporting global vehicle electrification initiatives.
Being a member of this team, you will provide regional and global teams with sourcing strategies for electric motors and inverters segment

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Volvo Construction Equipment is currently expanding its Electromobility Purchasing Team. This function supports development and industrialization of electrified construction vehicles. We are looking for a Commodity Buyer whose main task will be to globally manage electric motors and inverters segment which is critical for the electrified vehicles from a value chain perspective.
The role is highly strategic and will require both purchasing and technical skills.

Main tasks and responsibilities
Creation and maintenance of sourcing strategies for electric motors and inverters. Gradually with time, the role may also cover other type of components such as; DC/DC and AC/DC converter as well as chargers
Global market analysis for commodities in scope (market dynamics, emerging technologies, suppliers' dynamics)
Identification, evaluation, development and management of suppliers to fulfill business needs
Provide support in defining future electric motors and inverters solutions together with Advanced Engineering, Technology and other stakeholders' within Volvo Group
Evaluate technical solutions with a business mindset
Coordinate Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) activities
Negotiate contracts which include everything from framework, cost, development to warranty agreements)
Secure Intellectual Property (IP) rights on developed solutions

WHO ARE YOU?
We are looking for an energetic and committed professional with relevant expertize and "can-do" attitude.

Who are you regarding experience:
University degree in Business Administration and/or Supply Management or Engineering
Minimum 3 years of Purchasing experience which includes: cost management, negotiations, technical commodity expertise, development of sourcing strategies, operational & strategic supply management
Solid commercial and technical knowledge about inverters/electric motors
Knowledge about different motor technologies, understand their advantages and disadvantages and be able to recommend appropriate technology for specific application
Knowledge of electric motor/inverter manufacturing process
Fluent in both spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages is a plus
Strong analytical and computer skills (Excel, Power Point)
Have working experience in any of the below industries:
Construction Equipment or Automotive industry preferably in electromobility and/or electrical or electronics arena
Motor/inverter manufacturing or design industry
Key personal characteristics that will make you a perfect fit for this role:
