Our game Star Stable Online (SSO) is a vast online multi-player adventure game designed to encourage girls to work together to solve problems and complete challenges as well as explore a large-scale, complex magical world from horseback. With over 10 million registered users, Star Stable Online is one of the most popular MMO's in the world, and one of the few online games targeted specifically towards girls.
What you will be doing:
• Implementing quest chains, and owning the associated writing, scripting and data
• Collaborating in level and environmental design
• Mentoring others in the team on how to create engaging content efficiently and under tight time constraints
• Prototyping mechanics and gameplay systems to improve the quality and variety of activities
We're looking for a game designer who:
• Has empathy for our target audience
• Has experience with a variety of tools and scripting languages
• Is inquisitive and possesses a proactive attitude
• Is a game design generalist with experience in some combination of design, quest design, narrative design, and mechanics
• Has the ability to communicate clearly across disciplines
• Has industry experience and/or comparable personal projects
• Has playable demos or a portfolio available
• Is analytical and iterative understands the value that their work provides and the repercussions of 'passion creep'
• Is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment
• Is excited to play in an established world with 10 years of history and fandom
Advantages:
• Experience on MMOs or other live service based games
• Horse knowledge
