The Engine control group responsible for Start and Emission Control Petrol Engines and Start Control Diesel Engines is in an expansive phase and therefore we need to strengthen our team. With us you will get advanced engineering tasks that challenge you to continue your technical and personal development. We work in teams, so we can support each other, exchange ideas and together achieve success. We are now looking for an ambitious and open-minded Function Developer.
As a Function Developer you will be responsible to develop engine control functions for the next generation Volvo engines. The functions are created in Simulink and should control the engine start, catalytic converter or evaporative system etc. To develop and verify the control functions the responsinilites also include some tests in engine dynamometer, in vehicle and unit testing of the models. You will collaborate with engineers from engine design and engine control diagnostics to develop the most efficient functions. You will also take part in excursions for climate testing.
A Senior Engineer is preferable but a Junior Engineer is also welcome to apply and the work task will be adapted to be suitable for the candidate.
Main responsibilities
• Develop control functions for engines to meet emission and start requirement
• Test and verify the functions, both in simulations and in engine or vehicle tests
• Document the functions and review them together with others
Required qualifications
• University degree in engineering or extensive engineering experience
• Experience from engine control or engine concept development
• Experience from software development, embedded systems in particular is meritorious
• Experience from the software tools Matlab/Python, Simulink and INCA will be an asset
• Driver's license B
