Jönköping Academy is closely connected to the Department of Quality Improvement and Leadership. We currently have an opening for a full Full Professor in Quality Improvement Science. As our new Full Professor, you will work together with our director and management team to support development of Jönköping Academy in line with its vision and mission.

Jönköping Academy is co-owned by Jönköping University and Region Jönköping County and is part of several national and international networks that focus on quality improvement in health and welfare. Jönköping Academy contributes with cutting-edge expertise, grounded in the practical reality where we create new knowledge together with those we serve. A major focus of Jönköping Academy is to support the use of new knowledge in practice, promoting the renewal and improvement of healthcare and welfare services.
Jönköping Academy conducts research in a wide variety of areas under the umbrella of improvement science. We conduct research in partnership with practice and those with lived experience. As such, we collaborate closely with patients, clients, and members of the community. Another key area is practical use of research outcomes to maximise benefits for health and health and welfare organisations.

Jönköping Academy offers a creative and leading academic environment both within Jönköping University and the well-renowned health care system of Region Jönköping County. You will be employed within the Department of Quality Improvement and Leadership.
As a Full Professor you will be expected to participate in, and support, the development of teaching at all academic levels and to create a firm link between research and education within both Jönköping Academy and The School of Health and Welfare 's research environment. You will conduct your own research within relevant transdisciplinary research environments at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University and close-to-practice within Region Jönköping County. An important part of your role is to support younger researchers in their career development. You will also support the master's program and other educational activities.
Within the area of quality improvement your main duties will also include:
- third-stream activities - nationally and internationally,
- to plan, organise and prioritise the work in an effective way,
- to handle resources in a way that reflects Jönköping Academy's priorities,
- leading activities and motivating staff, making decisions and providing others with the preconditions required to effectively achieve common objectives.

Your profile
The new Full Professor is expected to contribute to the development of Jönköping Academy. To thrive in the position, it is important that you have a strong ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in an efficient and relevant way.
To fit the position, you must embrace diversity and collaboration and be willing to join current activities as well as develop and lead new initiatives. You are ambitious and motivated and
demonstrate excellence in research and teaching with a track record in attracting external funding and engaging with different stakeholders.
Further, to be eligible for the position the candidate should have documented experience in and from:
- research and education within improvement science,
- academic leadership,
- applied participatory cross-disciplinary research,
- co-production in practice and research.
It is considered meritorious if you have:
- worked practically within the Health and Welfare sector
- clinical/practical leadership experience
Knowledge in both spoken and written English is required, while knowledge in Swedish is highly desirable. Note: Individuals who do not have Swedish language skills will be expected to obtain this knowledge within two years from starting the position.

The position is a permanent employment of 100%, starting 2024 or by agreement.
The employment percentage is negotiable. Annual working hours for teachers shall be in accordance with the university's collective agreement. The University of Jönköping implements individual salary setting.
