Who you are
Alfa Laval invests in the field of separation technology with increased focus on advanced computer simulation methods like FEM, CFD and Optimization. We are looking for passionate, driven engineering specialists in Machine Dynamics, Solid Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics who can help us to do even better than we do today.
This recruitment is an expansion as we find numerical simulation increasingly important and needed in the daily product development work.
About the jobWith this position, you will become part of the core competence team of Fluid Dynamics and Separation Technology. The work involves support to product development, development of simulation models and test methods. Separator fluid dynamics involves a variety of interesting and challenging fluid flow phenomena such as: rapid rotation, rotating turbulence, multiphase, rheology and heat transfer.
The Fluid Dynamics team carries out CFD simulations, laboratory tests, theoretical analyses and field tests for:
Supporting and contributing to product and conceptual development
Strategic knowledge build-up and applied research projects
Customer and sales support
After an introductory period, where you will be introduced to the fluid dynamics specific to centrifuges and separation, you are expected to be able to work independently.
The position offers many interesting challenges and opportunities to grow and develop as a fluid dynamics specialist. The team you are joining is a well-educated (predominantly PhD) and highly motivated group.
What you knowWe are looking for a candidate with a Master or PhD. in engineering. It is expected that you have training and experience in computational fluid dynamics. Besides a strong profile within your specialist field, you should have a genuine curiosity and the ability to acquire new knowledge.
Documented skills in OpenFOAM, Python, Linux, Simscape, Modelica or LabView are considered an advantage.
As a technology specialist it is expected that you are a good communicator and can be a strong representative and driver of your subject, within our company.
