The Fleet Procurement Manager is a member of the senior management team in Sweden. It is a key role to the organization, contributing to the success of our company by maximizing the purchase and sale of the car and van fleet across Sweden. This role is responsible for selecting the fleet in Sweden, optimizing the cost base of the business as well as supporting the customer satisfaction through the quality and mix of vehicles. This role works very closely with the Operations management team to ensure all of the business objectives are met for the region.
Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
Control of all the negotiations and Procurement of all rental fleet in Sweden, aligning to the core objectives of the business - total fleet purchases of 1000's of vehicles every year
Management of a strong proposition for the provision of fleet to the licensee network, including further development of the offer within Sweden, enhancing these critical relationships
Development of strategies to purchase risk vehicles throughout the region, including the core sales channels. To include opportunities to both import and export vehicles within the region and also across other European markets
Responsibility for the Fleet Holding costs with p&l impact
To develop key supplier relationships with local and national importers and dealers throughout the countries, ensuring ABG is the customer of choice for these key partnerships
To identify and implement new ways of buying fleet, to optimise the tax position and any future legislative changes, thereby ensuring our fleet cost base remains competitive
To work closely with the Northern Region Rotation team to optimise the timing of purchases and sales, maximising the utilisation of the fleet. This includes working with Operations to continually improve processes to minimise any slack days throughout the life of the vehicles
To negotiate contracts with importers and dealers for the provision of damage and maintenance where appropriate. To work closely with the Northern Region Head of Damage to optimise our cost base and out of service days
Providing assistance to the sales teams in the tender and contract negotiations for large customers where required
Management of the Fleet Procurement and Administrative team in a Sweden, including strong management and development of the team
To ensure all controls and compliance regulations are met in accordance with all Company guidelines
To provide feedback and reporting to ABG international fleet procurement team.
To manage and optimise the winter tyre changes, working closely with operations to minimise disruption to the business
Direct Line Management of Team
Key Accountabilities
Fleet holding costs of Sweden and Sweden and other performance metrics against the defined plan and forecast business targets, working with the full team and Operational staff to ensure that these targets are met
Managing the utilisation across Sweden and working with all the team including operations, logistics and damage and maintenance, to ensure budget and forecast targets are met
Full understanding of business plans, financial statements, and any other relevant reporting to ensure the team activities are aligned to meeting the business objectives, both short term and longer term
Continually reviewing the processes within the team and wider business to ensure the most efficient business practices, taking key learnings and promoting best practice across the three Scandinavian countries
Management of key external supplier relationships, ensuring that strong partnerships are maintained and enhanced with particular reference to importers and dealers. To support ABG as the "customer of choice" for such key suppliers
Promotes effective communication and cooperation with all district, operations, Head office and external stakeholders.
Oversees the all operational performance KPIs to ensure that key targets are met and to satisfy standards imposed by the business
Critically assesses performance, processes and structure/layout of all fleet procurement and remarketing activities and develops action plans to improve
Work with fellow operations team members to implement and deliver the Company's strategy and objectives
Maintain financial and operational policies, controls and standards as defined by the company
Collaborates with teams to ensure optimal operation of supplier contracts and relationships
Ensures company controls are in place to the limit the potential for fraud and corruption
Ensure appropriate controls are in place to minimise vehicle thefts from own sites and suppliers. Works to limit the potential for ABG to incur financial losses
