hela Sverige Forum Syd is now looking for a Financial controller for the Swedish Somali Business Program (SSBP) based at our Swedish Office
This position is located at Forum Syd's head office in Stockholm, Sweden. The position is a temporary employment of one year, with the possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible. Schedule is full time. The position may include travel
Areas of responsibility
• Technical/legal assessments of applying entities/companies
• Ensure the quality of financial reporting and tracking of results
• Advise, train and support the applying entities/companies in the field of internal management and control (for example in contract compliance, follow up audit processes and risk financial management)
• Coordinate and/or participate in the processes of budgeting, follow-up and reporting to the donor
• Advise and support in the field of financial control
• Participate in meetings, seminars or conferences when relevant to further develop the knowledge in the field of financial control
Qualifications required
• Experience from working with internal control
• Extensive experience in budgeting, accounting, follow-up and financial reporting.
• Pedagogical experiences and abilities
• Good knowledge in Excel
• Very good ability to express oneself orally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Relevant academic degree or equivalent qualifications obtained in another way
• Experience in start-up and implementation of programmes/projects is an advantage

About the Swedish-Somali Business Program:
Forum Syd will together with Business Sweden as the main partner develop The Swedish-Somali Business Program (SSBP), aimed at creating businesses and jobs in Somalia. The SSBP is funded by Sida.
As a part of the Swedish Government's Development Cooperation's strategy for Somalia over 2013-2017, the ultimate goal of the SSBP is employment creation and increase of income for those economically active in Somalia, contributing to livelihood improvement and human security across the country with a focus on young people 18-35 years, with a particular focus on women in this age-group.
Job creation is a key challenge to be overcome if Somalia is to turn its negative development trend. With strong entrepreneurial propensities and cultural linkages to Somalia, the Somali diaspora in Sweden can play an important part, together with other relevant actors, in creating jobs for Somalis by investing in and developing businesses that can create jobs in Somalia.
