You will be part of HVDC within the Power Systems division in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 65 years and is used to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems. Your responsibilities
Responsibility to evaluate the need for filtering for harmonic mitigation to design such filters to stay in operation for 30 years or more. This involves also to evaluate and affect how the HVDC converter control affects the harmonics.
Involved from designing such solutions until verification measurements at site.
Working with land located converter stations as well as off-shore converter stations, e.g. for connection of wind parks.
Your professional knowledge will be essential not only internally, for your colleagues in other departments, but also externally, for customers and sub suppliers.
Participating in conferences and standardization work groups in your field within the international engineering communities.

Your background
Have a Bachelor or master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or Engineering Physics.
Knowledge on tools like PSCAD and MATLAB.
Good graduate academic skills or an enthusiastic experienced engineer.
Fluency in English and preferably in another language.
Interest in solving complex problems.
Experience in design related to off-shore platforms and/or experience of wind parks is meritorious.
Pedagogical ability to motivate and persuade matters in relation to the operations.
You also use your communication skills when collaborating with other departments, customers, project organization and with suppliers.
