FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Job brief
Nordic Colocation Computing (NCC) is looking for qualified Computer Technicians to install, maintain and repair computers and networks. You will be the one to ensure that adequate IT infrastructure is in place and is used to its maximum capabilities. As a computer technician you must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently and accurately and will possess a great problem-solving ability in order to fix issues and ensure functionality. The candidate must have good organization and administrative skills. The goal is to install and maintain high quality networks and computer systems and maintain excellent documents and records.
Responsibilities
• Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers
• Maintain and repair technological equipment.
• Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPs etc.)
• Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks
• Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
• Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
• Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference. Maintain site inventories.
Requirements
• Proven experience as computer technician or similar role
• Experience with LAN/WAN networks
• Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
• Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+) will be an advantage
Location
• Primary work location is Mariannelund Sweden.
• Periodically work site may be temporarily changed to other sites within Sweden.
Other Considerations
• This is a full time permanent role.
• Heavy lifting is required 15~20KG during installation of hardware.
• Work environment in the computing centers is noisy and can be hotter or colder than office temperatures. During the buildout phase you should consider that a high percentage of the job will be spent in these conditions.
• Weekend and night time shifts will be required. We run a 24-hour 7 day a week operation that requires constant support and monitoring.
• Individual working hours will be kept to 40 hours per week with minimum overtime. When overtime is required time off in lieu of overtime hours worked or appropriate compensation within compliance with Swedish law will be provided.
Compensation
• Compensation will be based on individual qualification at competitive rates.
