DIS in Stockholm is seeking an external lecturer, with strong teaching and research skills, for the following combined courses:

Affective Neuroscience: Emotions, Cognition, and Behavior Course
And
Affective Neuroscience Research Lab

Teaching Context
• Exciting, international educational environment
• Highly motivated Bachelor students from well-recognized US universities/colleges
• Interactive, hands-on, experiential teaching philosophy
• For the course: 3 teaching hours weekly, per semester
• For the lab: 3 - 6 teaching and supervision hours weekly, per semester
• Preparation of and participation in a 6 day Academic Study Tour to Paris and a 3 day Academic Study tour to Gothenburg
• Academic assessment of students throughout the semester
• The course and the lab will be offered twice a year (Spring and Fall semesters)

Professional and personal competencies .Relevant academic background where a Ph.D.is preferable
• It is expected that you have done research in the area
• Work experience from field of expertise
• Teaching experience is an advantage
• Academic English skills and capable of teaching in English
• Motivation to engage academically as well as socially with students
• Flexible and creative

DIS is a non-profit study abroad foundation established in Denmark in 1959, with locations in Copenhagen and Stockholm. DIS provides semester, academic year, and summer programs taught in English, and offers high-impact learning experiences for upper-division undergraduate students from distinguished North American colleges and universities. The intellectually challenging curriculum is broad, cutting edge, and enriched by experiential learning components, including faculty-led study tours across Europe. The housing and extracurricular offerings provide students with opportunities for meaningful cultural engagement and personal growth.

Varaktighet, arbetstid
The Course and Lab are offered from the Fall semester and teaching will start mid-August 2018. Preparation of the courses will take place during spring 2018.
