With your high energy and desire to make Sandvik a better place, you're just the person we're looking for!
We offer you the chance to be in the forefront of ERM where you truly get to impact our ways of working. All this, while acting in a broad role with outstanding opportunities for further development and advancement within the function and take responsibility for ensuring and identifying risks we may be faced with - big or small - and carry this further into our business.
Let's talk about your mission
You're responsible for the leadership and innovation necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate and monitor our operational and strategic risks. You set the vision and establish the ERM architecture to ensure that risk management policies and strategies follow regulations, rating agency standards and strategic imperatives. In collaboration with the risk management council, you also moderate an annual risk workshop with Group Executive Management (GEM) and assure that risks identified within our business are assessed, aggregated and presented in our annual ERM report. You continuously advise on emerging risk issues, alignment of risk appetite as well as industry issues and standards.
To assess the financial impact related to operational risks at our manufacturing locations and key suppliers, you leverage resources available through external insurance partners and support mitigating actions. Sustainability is important to us, and you take part in initiatives driven by our sustainability function and assess operational risks related to climate change. In addition to your ERM responsibilities, you collaborate and maintain strong relationships with our business areas (BA) to set the business continuity management requirements to ensure their ability to successfully respond in case of a disruptive event.
You report to the VP Group Risk Management and regularly have interactions with BA risk managers. The location is flexible within time zones practical for travelling and working with our head office in Stockholm, Sweden.
Your background and character
We're looking for someone who has a passion for risk management and visionary thinking. You have a university degree in a relevant field of studies, such as business administration, engineering or law, or the equivalent knowledge gained from working. We believe you have a proven track record of managing successful projects and strong presentation skills combined with an understanding of business models, procedures and performance measures and how they relate back to risks. Experience from risk management, engineering, auditing or finance is beneficial, as well as an understanding of the practical aspects of building and sustaining a well-embedded ERM process within the manufacturing industry. With a strategic outlook and a collaborative working style, you find your way in our decentralized structure. Acting in a truly global environment calls for excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge in Swedish or any other languages is beneficial.
You're a positive and forward-thinking frontrunner who knows how to translate your knowledge into business advantages and not are afraid to make things happen. With confidence, you easily drive projects with a broad audience of different stakeholders spread throughout our business. Your clear and easy way of communicating is a perfect tool to encourage and drive inspiring workshops; making sure that our way of working is spread and complied within our business. You thrive when interacting in diverse environments, and with an open mindset, you recognize people and their agendas. You can also explain and make people understand the value of acting after your advice, in order to create a safe and sustainable work environment at Sandvik!
What we do
Sandvik is a global engineering group active in tooling, mining and construction. The complexity of global operations with its diversity of risks and opportunities as well as a decentralized operating model is constantly a topic.
