Vattenfall Power Consultant (VPC) offers clients advisory services in the field of environmental management, including environmental and social impact assessments, analysis, policy and technology effecting the environment and related subjects. VPC now intends to bolster its ability to offer such services in Eastern Europe.

Environment Project Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
Part of the VPC venture in Eastern Europe will be about exploring environmental and social impact on the rehabilitation of energy infrastructure (power stations, transmission and distribution lines) as well as the decommissioning of old nuclear power plants. It will also include assessing environmental impact on the implementation of renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar power. You will join a team assigned to the accomplishment and processing of traditional environmental and social impact assessments and due diligence studies. You will contribute to harmonize environmental assessments performed according to national guidelines with EU environment norms as well as those of the EBRD and the World Bank. Market assessments and marketing activities will be included in your duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
We think that
• you have been formally trained somewhere in Eastern Europe;
• you have an interest in environmental and social assessment and sustainable development;
• you are familiar with Eastern European culture and business procedures (as at a natural resource / environment unit);
• you understand Western European norms and procedures;
• you communicate well in English and one or more Eastern European language, Russian is an additional merit.
• Good Swedish is a merit.
QUALITIES
• Extrovert and communicative.
• Analytical and attentive both to detail and to comprehensive totality.
• Flexible / free to travel as a major portion of the work will be done abroad.
• You are a skillful coordinator.
• You are proactive and used to take initiative.
EMPLOYMENT
Full time. 6 month review period prior to permanent employment.
