Volvo Autonomous Solution is organized in an On- and Off-Road Solutions business set up. The Solutions organizations are responsible for the total value chain, from sales- and specifying the proposed solution to the implementation of the specific autonomous transport solutions at a customer site. The On-Road Solutions focuses on typical truck applications and Off- Road on machine applications.
This is the role
An autonomous vehicle is capable of taking over the driving tasks, but how will it interact with the rest of the systems in its surrounding and how will it take care of apparently simple tasks like talking to a police officer? In VAS we don't develop just an autonomous vehicle, we develop a complete autonomous transport solution. One part of VAS brings the autonomous vehicle to life, another part of VAS will make the autonomous solutions a seamless and integral part of future transport ecosystems- The Cloud. The VAS-Solutions Cloud is a platform of innovative solutions that bring value to customers and partners. We are developing an ecosystem of different cloud-based capabilities and third-party integrations that can boost new business models and services, and you can be in the driving seat.
You will be main responsible for the overall cloud architecture for the Solutions organizations within VAS. This role will put you in direct contact with the customer. Your primary responsibility will be to guarantee a seamless integration to the customer systems, in order to ensure an efficient, safe and sustainable autonomous transport solution that creates a continuous flow of value to VAS and our customers. This will demand you to be highly innovative in order develop an ecosystem of different capabilities and solutions together with internal developers, customers and external partners.
This role acts as the SAFe Enterprise Architect within VAS. As the Enterprise Architect for VAS Solutions, you will establish a Cloud strategy and roadmap that enables the VAS Solution portfolio to support current and future business capabilities.
You will need to understand and communicate strategic themes, and other business drivers for architecture, to Domain and System Architects as well as non-technical stakeholders. You will participate in the strategy for building and maintaining the Cloud Solutions roadmap, driving own initiatives.

To succeed in this role, you need to have a passion for innovation and collaboration with extensive experience as an Enterprise Architect in logistics and/or transport planning.
The Solutions Cloud will be a melting pot of different competence areas, this means you are an effective communicator and bridge builder. You will collaborate with a team of highly skilled and motivated Domain and Systems architects from VAS Technology as well as Sales and Implementation leaders from VAS Solutions. You will also be in close collaboration with customers to understand their needs and interface integration requirements. This role will be operational during the whole value chain of a customer implementation.
More specifically we are looking for a person that can embody the following characteristics:
Extensive technical and commercial experience within the commercial vehicle industry, and you bring recognized expertise within logistics planning, transport as a service
Business knowledge from product development, sales, manufacturing, aftermarket, logistics and transportation
Proven track record in designing and installing complex automation solutions
Excellent knowledge in transport management solutions
Excellent knowledge in automation and control systems
Experience from customer implementations
Good knowledge of the TOGAF and SAFe methods
Extensive knowledge in cloud architecture
Good knowledge of emerging technologies like Blockchain, AI and RPA
Integration architecture
Security architecture
Competence in EA SPARX, or equivalent solutions for documenting EA and information flows
Coaching leadership skills
Fluent in English, reading and writing.
Communicative
Experience working in global enterprises
