As Manager for Engineering Systems, you will have responsibility for manage the Lead Coordinators of all site based Engineering Systems groups:
• Physical Test and Analysis
• NVH and Vehicle Engineering
• Virtual Test & Analysis (CAE)
• Prototyping
• Engineering IS/IT
Here, you will manage all site based Engineering Systems related aspects, with responsibility for planning, allocation, execution and documentation of the related tasks, budget, manning & recruitment, training and development of the teams, driving performance (KPIs, efficiency, etc), Equipment & Systems deployment and utilization, CAPEX, Engineering Resource tracking and reporting including iDash, Health & Safety, Quality and Lean.
The department consists of 85 co-workers and in your role, you will lead and guide 5 group Managers reporting directly to you. In addition you will also be responsible for Engineering records, data bases & quality systems and support other GKN Driveline activities.
You will report to the Engineering Site Manager. As you will have an important position on a global level networking is necessary. This is an exciting opening for you who would like a challenge where you can influence the AWD-Systems of tomorrow.
The requirements
You are an experienced professional with an academic degree, probably in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering, or similar achieved experience. It is advantageous with experience from Physical test and analysis and Prototyping. Further, technical background on product development and verification inside the automotive environment (or similar) is an advantage.
You are a natural leader with minimum 5 years ' of experience on manage teams. You have the ability to build strong teams and to coach and encourage individuals in their development. You are a person who remains calm and focused while handling several tasks simultaneously. GKN is growing and the environment is dynamic. Therefor you need to have a strategic mind and be able to prioritize among your commitments. As you will work in global business, fluency in both written and spoken English is a prerequisite.
