We are now looking to fill the position of Director Sales Engineering Industrial (SEI) to lead the SEI team on the exciting journey ahead and be part of the Product Management Industrial management team.
Challenge description:
Product Management Industrial (PMI) aligns the organization to meet market needs of today and tomorrow in a profitable manner. PMI sets product strategies and pricing models, launches product development projects and supports all market regions in sales phases. PMI represents the voice of the customer towards other functions, for Volvo Penta to excel from design to aftermarket support.
Sales Engineering Industrial's responsibility includes:
Support and drive sales and installation engineering projects in cooperation with market regions
Develop and provide technical sales and installation engineering methods, tools, documentation and training for regional resources
Represent application and installation engineering related requirements regarding market requests with in the Volvo Penta product development process
Build and maintain Volvo Penta's competence towards our OEM applications
Lead and coach a team of global industrial application engineers in the organization
The candidate is expected to participate and lead in several applicable cross functional forums
Support the product planning department with customer requirements and technical inputs
Identify and develop new partnerships to offer total solutions
The Director Sales Engineering Industrial reports to VP Product Management Industrial and is part of the management team for PMI.

Competence Profile:
The job requires close contact with regional sales and application resources and close collaboration with the sales organization, product planning, and product development as well as with colleagues in the Volvo group companies. Therefore excellent communication and networking skills are vital for this role.
To be able to understand, contribute and meet the needs from the organization a high customer orientation with a business mindset in parallel with relevant product knowledge (function and system integration) is required. This also requires being a highly motivated team player with proven leadership skills driving collaboration among colleagues within PMI as well as with the functions PMI interfaces with.
Prior experience of the industrial engine business and international exposure is preferred. Frequent travel required.
