The Director of SIS reports to the Board of Trustees and functions as the chief executive officer responsible for the overall operations of the school, both its day-to-day operations and its long-term development. Accountable for the adherence to all school policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable local laws, the Director also ensures adherence and alignment to best practice for international schools and relevant accreditations. ?

The Director is deemed the authority by the Board to execute and supervise all activities under the control of the Board as defined by school policies and procedures. The actions of the Director shall be in support of the school's mission and vision, and shall be conducted within the framework of Swedish law. ?

The Director acts as supervisor to all individuals and committees within the school. This authority may be delegated to other members of management and staff, but overall accountability cannot be relinquished. The Board may from time to time assign additional duties and responsibilities to the Director, provided such additional duties and responsibilities are consistent with those normally associated with the position of chief executive officer of a school. One of the current such responsibilities is to lead the successful relocation of the entire school to its new campus in 2020.

You are required to have professional experience in international education and university degree(s) in the relevant field(s) , master's or doctorate preferred.
Experience as a leading administrator in education oriented institutions; ?
Experience with current international education philosophy and programmes; ?
Solid financial understanding and sound managerial skills; ?
Sound insight of current educational applications of information technology; ?
Visible, approachable style of leadership with first-rate interpersonal skills; ?
Transparent, team-building leadership style; ?
Passion to communicate school's vision and common purpose; ?
Inspiring others to achieve common goals;
Understanding of cultural differences and sensitivity to multi-national school population;
Understanding and curious interest in the Swedish/Scandinavian societal context in which the school operates; ?
Strong moral character.

For over 60 years, SIS has been developing educational excellence, social responsibility and personal integrity in decisively international students. We are an English-speaking, non-selective, preschool to grade 12, day school offering the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The school's current enrollment is approximately 660 students with 120 teachers and 30 non-teaching staff.

The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
