The Volvo Brand Heritage department at Volvo Group Headquarters is responsible for availability and activation of the Volvo brand Heritage.
The Volvo Historical Archive is a shared asset between Volvo Group and Volvo Cars, organizationally belonging to Volvo Group but operated jointly. The archive holds a broad collection of assets including a significant number of media assets both analogue and digital, that all play an important role to enabling and reinforcing the distinguished heritage of Volvo.
We are now looking for a new colleague to join the Volvo Historical Archive team, filling the position Digital Asset Manager - Heritage.
This role has the main responsibility to manage and organize the Volvo brand digital assets being of historical value for future generations. Since the role operates across a wide network of individuals, departments and interfaces within both Volvo Group and Volvo Cars, a key success factor is a communicative, collaborative and result oriented approach. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that digital assets are easily accessible, well-structured, and accurately tagged, enabling efficient search and retrieval for various stakeholders across the two organizations. You will have full responsibility of administration of the tool, not only smooth operation and optimizing its functionality but also full responsibility for its content.
Key target and expected results
Manage and continuously develop a state-of-the-art dedicated heritage digital asset management tool. Developing processes for collecting historical assets and strive to make unique historical media assets available, and easy to use.
Main activities and responsibilities
Systematically collecting, cataloguing, managing, safeguarding and preserve all types of digital assets that are of historical value
Administrate and optimize the Heritage Media tool, including user and access management, metadata management and consistency, taxonomy and ensuring compliance and copyrights.
Rendering media assets searchable and ready for use by various teams and asset users.
Digitizing analogue assets
Be the go-to subject matter expert for historical digital asset and provide insight and guidance of archiving needs in the future media asset development processes
Close collaboration with representatives from Volvo Car Group Content Store and Volvo Group's Media Hub to ensure alignments and efficient asset life cycle processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders (internal and external) and vendors to develop Heritage DAM roadmap for continued value
Be a key player for/towards the content teams in Volvo Car Group, Volvo Group and World of Volvo.
Key competencies
Proven experience as a system administration in an enterprise-level DAM system
Strong understanding of digital asset management incl lifecycle management, file formats, resolution, conversion, metadata management ant it's principles and best practices.
Strong analytical mindset and experience from improving search ability files
Knowledge of copyright laws, usage rights and licensing agreement related to digital assets
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Trusted team player with ability to include others and to make things happen.
Genuine interest in the broad history of Volvo as such, it's products and services
Digital Asset Management Professional Certificate (preferable)
Bachelor's degree in computer and or library science, information systems or related field (or equivalent experience)
Swedish and English proficiency, spoken and written
Digital capability - expert level
