Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for an individual who can fulfil the following key role as a Development Engineer within RD&I Chemical Analysis in Bohus.

Chemical Analysis is a central resource within AkzoNobel PPC. The department is performing analysis of raw material, products and environmental samples for the producing units in AkzoNobel PPC. Chemical Analysis takes part in research and development projects, market support, trouble shooting and development of new analytical methods.

Twenty three people are working at the department mainly within the competence areas of wet chemistry, spectroscopy and chromatography.

The Development engineer is working in the chromatography group with performing analysis, trouble shooting and advanced analytical method development, eventhough the focus is on X-Ray diffraction methods.

The main tasks and responsibilities are:

• Perform advanced analyses and method development within the X-Ray area.
• Contribute to trouble shooting within the analytical area together with clients.
• Participate in R&D projects as a project member.
• Maintain and develop methods within the area of focus.

Job requirements / Candidate profile

• Bachelor of Science in chemistry and experience within the spectroscopy field.
• Knowledge in analytical chemistry
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
• Innovative
• Good ability to co-operate

To be successful in this position you should be an analytical chemist and have knowledge in spectroscopy. You are a good communicator, both in writing and verbally and as a person you are methodical, responsible, quality-driven and result oriented.

This is a permanent position on a full time basis, reporting to the Department Manager Chemical Analysis, Inger Jansson.
