Are you a junior or experienced engineer where you can use your skills and interest in technology, project lead, design and implementation of new solutions? Due to an internal move, an exciting opportunity has now arisen for a Development Engineer to join our Global Customer Support Division at Kongsberg Maritime in Kristinehamn. We are looking for a motivated engineer to become a core member in our team of experts. You will be surrounded by competent colleagues that are focused on supporting our customers in customizing and upgrading our existing products.
Your Role
As a Development Engineer at Kongsberg Maritime, you will be a key player in our Global Customer Support division. Your main responsibility will be to work on the development and implementation of innovative solutions, adapting current technology to products delivered up to decades ago. You will coordinate and collaborate with colleagues across different functions, as well as with customers and suppliers, to ensure the successful design and upgrade of existing products.
In this role you will be involved in a variety of tasks including, setting plans, defining priorities, and taking the lead on development projects to completion - designing and implementing new solutions to meet customer needs. You will work on development projects across the areas of mechanics, hydraulics, and/or electronics, depending on your expertise and experience.

Qualifications and experience
Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field of engineering and a high technical interest. Experience in design, CAD, project leadership, or product development is preferred, but not an absolute requirement. If you have recently graduated and don't have experience already, with the right attitude, we're here to help you grow. We are all about hands-on challenges and support to help you become the best development engineer you can be. We are open to providing any relevant training and support to help you increase your competence level.
Due to the nature of an international customer and supplier base, a high level of English, both written and spoken, is valuable. Communication skills in other languages are advantageous.
We appreciate your ability to take initiative and make things happen in a systematic way. An innovative mindset is essential, as is the ability to analyze and come up with new ideas and solutions. Collaboration is key to our success, so you should work well with others, communicate effectively, share knowledge, and support your colleagues in achieving team goals.
Kongsberg works with customers from both the commercial and naval market segments.
As our Engineers work with classified materials, security clearance and export control may be required for this position and questions related to citizenship will be part of the selection process.
Our ambition is to fill the position as soon as possible, selection and interviews may therefore begin during the application period.
