We are now looking for a Data engineer to join our video analytics team at our office in Stockholm
What is Hive Video Operations?
When joining the Video Operations team, you will get a chance to be a part of shaping this brand-new team. At the moment the team consist of a Backend Engineer, a Frontend Engineer and the Team Lead, Mohammed Medhat: "My goal is to include and engage each new colleague in the process of creating this brand-new team. The team focuses on proactively ensure success for our customers. The team does this through the testing of our costumers' customers network video readiness and stream health before an event is held. The testing is being made through a unique capability called silent testing to verify live streaming video events will be successful. In addition to this the team also have a focus on making sure that the customer receives alerts on issues regarding their event in real time, to ensure that their live event runs as smoothly as it can.

Working as a Data engineer
When joining Video Operations as a Data Engineer you will design, implement, and troubleshoot scalable and reliable data pipelines. When working as a Data engineer at Hive you will be a key player in shaping the future of Hive's big data platform!
Initially your time will be divided between shaping Hive's big new data platform and building data pipelines on top of it to power our analytics products (from ingestion to serve).
After few months, your focus should be on the product which the Video Operations team is focused on. This means that you will build data processing pipelines to detect the issues an event might be facing and thereby enable the function of the notifications product. You will also be providing data for the product which is focused on stream health.
Previous Experience
• 2+ years of experience building data pipelines, ETL/ELT and modeling.
• Good knowledge of Apache Spark's APIs and runtime architecture.
• Fluent in Scala and/or Python.
• Experience working with NoSQL and more traditional SQL stores.
• Great communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
