hela Sverige The EMEA Customs Operations Department is a newly created department within Volvo Car Group. The department will be responsible for all operational customs matters for Sweden and Belgium.
With this step, Volvo Cars will create a larger customs department covering activities in all three regions, EMEA, APAC and Americas. There will thus be a development path both in Europe and also in an international setting (Europe or globally) both in operational customs work as well as a move into governance roles.
The EMEA Customs Operations Department is a department within Volvo Car Group's "Global Customs" department. The Global Customs department will consist of more than 35 highly specialized customs professionals in Sweden and Belgium and many more in both Shanghai, China and Charleston, USA.
These roles are challenging. The people we are looking for want to take charge of their work and get a kick out of doing a great job and feels the excitement from seeing an idea for an improvement change into the agreed improved way of working. Also since very few processes exist today you be able to influence your way of working in a way which does not come around every day.
Main Responsibilities
Each Customs Declarant will be responsible to perform within the processes agreed in the team. The Declarants main responsibilities will be to.
* Create and submit Imports & Exports
* Close arriving transits, create outgoing transits
* Handle communication with and incoming documentation from suppliers and carriers
* Handle communication with an incoming documentation from suppliers and carriers
* Issue origin certificates where relevant
* Monthly self-assessments
* Cooperate with Volvo Cars' Inbound Logistics and Outbound Logistics teams
* Participate in continuous improvement work within the team
All declaration activities are handled in Volvo Cars' customs system, MIC Customs, which has been adapted to suit Volvo Cars activities closely. As a result Imports, Exports etc. are highly automated in Volvo Cars, and your job will concentrate on ensuring that declarations generated from electronic invoices, electronic delivery notes etc. result in a correct declaration rather than actual typing.
Some of the positions filled will be dedicated to work evening and night shift primarily. We therefore also welcome applications from declarants who will prefer this as their regular work time.

* A minumun of 2 years of experience in an in-house customs declaration functions or with a customs brokering firm
