What's in it for you?
Our Swedish Declaration Group is responsible for imports, exports and transits for goods arriving and departure to and from the Swedish plants in Gothenburg, Skövde, Olofström and our consolidation centers in Gothenburg and Gent.
The team is newly formed and the people hired therefore will have a great opportunity to be part of forming and setting efficient procedures, secure our service towards our stakeholders and quality. The Swedish Declaration group will work in close cooperation with the equivalent Belgian Declaration Group and with the team responsible for Master Data (classification etc.)
As the Customs department is part of Volvo Cars' Manufacturing & Logistics, the new team's work processes will be defined within "Volvo Cars Manufacturing System" which is an approach and methodology to ensure clear instructions, quality and continuous improvement enabling a high degree of influence for each team and team member to improve his or her work situation. We expect you to bring the customs knowledge and experience as well as the positive "can do" attitude and the interest to be part of the journey.
Volvo Car Group is utilizing multiple customs procedures and regimes in the course of our business. You will therefore be working with Outward Processing Relief, End-Use, Suspensions, Quotas and Inward Processing Relief etc.
The Customs team operates 24 hours per day 5 days a week. The role being filled is a daytime declarant with main working hours between 7.00 and 17:00. We expect the declarant filling this position willing to take a part in the rotating responsibility and cover holidays, illness etc.
What you'll do
You will create and submit Imports & Exports, close arriving transits, create outgoing transits and handle communication with and incoming documentation from suppliers and carriers. Other tasks are to issue origin certificates where relevant and cooperate with Volvo Cars' Inbound Logistics and Outbound Logistics teams etc. Note that we do expect and provide a level of flexibility in your working hours to ensure that Volvo Cars' production continues to run and our employees can manage their daily life also.
Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of one year of experience in an in-house customs declaration functions or with a customs brokering firm. You have the ability to work alone, make decisions and deliver under pressure. We think you are comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels in all different cultural backgrounds.
