The Role
As CTO, you will be responsible for CorPower's product development activities, ensuring the delivery of products that meet the functionality, reliability, performance, and cost levels outlined in our Product Roadmap. Our CorPack wave cluster product includes an array of Wave Energy Converters (WECs), mooring and anchoring solutions, and a collection hub that aggregates power and data, making CorPacks compatible with standard offshore electrical infrastructure for connection to shore. The development scope also includes supporting products for assembly, testing, installation, and operations & maintenance.
Responsibilities
Technology Leadership
• Program management to ensure products are developed on time, meeting the requirements including function, reliability, performance, and cost.
• Technical content management in close collaboration with our Chief Engineer. Ensure technology decisions support scalability, reliability, performance, and budget.
• Continuously refine our Product Roadmap in collaboration with the Commercial team to ensure our technical strategy delivers competitive products meeting our customer's needs.
• Interact with customers and stakeholders. Represent the company in technical discussions, industry conferences, and with regulatory bodies.
• Ensure our products comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements. Ensure product type-certification by DNV.

Engineering Leadership
· People leadership across the Engineering teams, including Systems Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Design, and Software Teams.
• Lead our engineering activities, organized across Product teams, from specification, planning, budgeting, design, technical documentation, certification, fabrication, assembly, deployment, and testing. Prioritize, delegate, and supervise engineers' activities and deliverables.
• Ensure alignment between all stakeholders, serve the multidisciplinary engineering teams with status and schedule updates, and provide project reports.
• Develop and execute a talent strategy to attract, retain, and grow top engineering talent.
• Develop a work environment that supports each team member to thrive and deliver at their full capacity. Manage, support, and evaluate engineers' performance.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration across all teams to align technology with business goals.
• Select and implement design and analysis tools, methods, and processes to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure the organization's technology infrastructure supports its needs. Manage the technology budget and propose investments to the Management Team.


Skills and requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience leading product development of complex systems or industrial equipment as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or in other senior technology leadership roles.
• Proven track record of taking new products through development cycles, including design, build, test, and deployment, leading to successful market introduction.
• Experience working in harsh environments such as offshore, mining, or other challenging or regulated industrial sectors is a plus.
• Experience in fast-paced companies is meritorious.
• Fundamental technical knowledge and genuine interest in machinery and technical development.
• Strong people leadership skills with a passion for coaching and developing teams to perform at their full capacity in an inspiring work environment.
• Extraordinary energy and ambition that inspires others to push boundaries.
• Determination and stamina to lead projects through to completion, bringing confidence to teams that ambitious goals can be met, especially in challenging times.
• Skilled in modern design and analysis tools, with the ability to identify and implement the most suitable engineering infrastructure for efficient product development.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
