THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
We tackle future challenges such as sustainable transport, low fuel consumption demands and emissions legislation constraints by providing the brain to all the powertrain systems of Volvo Group. That is, we leverage on our expertise in Control Theory, Mathematics and Optimization to design embedded software required to control new powertrain products. We work agile and we believe that this is the way to go nowadays.
We further collaborate with external research partners and internal stake holders on solutions aiming for medium and long term products and we coach other teams across the organization in the field of embedded control systems.

Our key focus areas are:
• Development, implementation and evaluation of efficient embedded control software for new powertrain stand-alone components, such as combustion engines, after-treatment systems, gearbox, etc.
• Development, implementation and evaluation of complete powertrain control software for conventional as well as hybrid drivelines.
• Exploitation of top-notch Academic Control Research for Customer Success.
• Supporting and coaching product development software engineers for improving their control strategy design skills.
• Management of the complexity due to functional growth and increased interaction between subsystems.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a control system research engineer you will be welcomed to a team of about 12 members working together to define and mature new control system concepts including algorithms, software and hardware. We do this in close collaboration with other engineering teams globally in the organization and with external partners, including suppliers, Universities and Research Centers. We are using agile methods and you will be part of a Scrum team that develop, implement and test control strategies for powertrain products through simulation, laboratory and on vehicle tests. You will support the team through software development activities.
