Purpose

To cultivate a clear and strong connection with members of our global communities, ensuring they feel listened to and are highly engaged with our community activity. The actionable community insights and feedback you deliver to key internal stakeholders will help shape Expansive Worlds' current and future portfolio of premium outdoor games.

The Position

You are the bridge of communication between our games' communities and our development and marketing teams. By leveraging your deep knowledge about online communities, as well as understanding and assessing player needs, you'll build and grow healthy and inclusive communities around our games.

You'll adeptly balance an empathy for the community with an understanding of marketing and development goals to manage community sentiment, contributing to long-term success.

This is a highly dynamic industry, and that means you need to be well-organized, adaptable and willing to advocate for great ideas - be that from you, or the community. The role comes with a lot of responsibility, freedom, and autonomy - which we believe is key to growing our people and the business.

Responsibilities

• Create and share compelling communications to keep the Expansive Worlds' communities engaged across all our social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, TikTok, Steam).
• Plan, create, and execute competitions, campaigns, streams, and other player focused events to drive and maintain positive community sentiment.
• Monitor and report on community sentiment through social media listening tools.You use community and player data (qualitative and quantitative) to back your ideas, initiatives, and recommendations.
• Be the champion for our games and communities, establish and nurture relationships with key content creators, and guide our community moderators in their daily work.

Required

• 2+ years of experience managing a video gaming community
• Knowledgeable about video games and community management
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational skills and time management skills
• Works well in a matrixed organization and is a team player
• Adaptable to change and flexible in approach
• Understanding of social media tools, sentiment reporting, and social media analytics; e.g., PlayerXP, Affogata, Sprout, Steam developer portal or similar software.
• Able to balance community needs against the business's goals

Desired

• Has launched or managed a live service video game community
• Has experience of and is comfortable with public speaking or streaming
• A degree in marketing or a related field, or the equivalent in work experience
• Basic proficiency in Adobe Suite or similar software
• An interest in outdoor pastimes is a bonus
