Why are we hiring for this role?
We are looking for someone who loves interacting with a community of passionate and supportive gamers. We have a desire to become more community focussed and we need a dynamic Community Manager to be that bridge between our players and our products.

What's the purpose of this role?
To cultivate a clear and strong connection with members of our global communities, ensuring they feel listened to and are highly engaged with our community activity. The actionable community insights and feedback you deliver to key internal stakeholders will help shape Expansive Worlds' current and future portfolio of premium outdoor games.

What are the key responsibilities?

• Be the primary bridge to the community through regular interactions with them on all our channels & platforms e.g. Steam, Discord, Reddit, etc

• Create and share compelling communications to keep the Expansive Worlds' communities engaged across all our social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, TikTok, Steam).

• Plan, create, and execute competitions, campaigns, streams, and other player focused events to drive and maintain positive community sentiment.

• Collaborate with the Content Marketing Manager to ensure all community/social assets are briefed in a timely manner.

• Monitor and report on community sentiment through social media listening tools. You use community and player data (qualitative and quantitative) to back your ideas, initiatives, and recommendations.

• Be the champion for our games and communities, establish and nurture relationships with key content creators, and guide our community moderators in their daily work.

• Assist and guide the community/forum moderators to ensure we have moderation cover on all required platforms and channels.

What type of person are we looking for?
You are a Community Manager who's launched a couple of PC/console games or worked on a live service game for 2-3 years. Adept at balancing an empathy for the community with an understanding of marketing and development goals, you know how to best manage community sentiment, contributing to long-term success. You're not afraid to get stuck in and be part of the conversation, always looking to de-escalate and promote a kind and inclusive nature across the communities you serve.

You love games and understand gamers enough to keep track of current and future trends in the market. Enjoying the outdoors like we do is a bonus!

How does the role fit in?
From your unique viewpoint and perspective on the front line, you'll leverage your deep knowledge about online communities, as well as understanding and assessing player needs. You'll manage and grow diverse, healthy and inclusive communities around our games.

Who are we?
Expansive Worlds is a creative division of Avalanche Studios Group and a leading developer and publisher of outdoor games. Since 2009, Expansive Worlds has been devoted to delivering highly immersive outdoor gaming experiences for millions of players and best known for the long-standing and successful Call of the Wild franchise.

We're a growing games publisher & developer, so your day-to-day work will be dynamic, exciting and rewarding. Your ability to be adaptable, well-organized and a detail-oriented person with an affinity for creative ideas and openness to change will set you up for success. This role comes with responsibility, freedom and autonomy - which we believe is key to growing our people and the business.

Anything else worth sharing?

• The role is based at our HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, alongside the marketing team in a hybrid office/home environment.

• Some occasional international business travel may be required.

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal are a must.

• Previous experience at an international games publisher is a necessity.

• Understanding of community tools, sentiment reporting, and social media analytics; e.g. PlayerXP, Affogata, Sprout, Steam developer portal or similar software is highly desirable.

• If you've ever streamed, hosted or been involved in a video production, tell us!
